0110 - MAC TECHNIQUE

My prolongwear review will have to wait - first this. I haven't blogged for a few days since I was way to excited about something that was going to happen on the 1st of October (=today) and I didn't want to whine about it too much on here - I knew I'd do it if I wrote a new post. So basically, I participated in a M.A.C. Technique Eyes & Lips today. It was way better than I ever imagined. The make up artists were all from the Netherlands and were extremely kind and funny.
I was the youngest person there. All the other ladies were already mothers. And you could tell... They were all extremely tired and insecure looking. We had to introduce ourselves first and basically, all these ladies participated because they wanted to feel beautiful again. One lady told us her hairdresser 'accidentally' chopped off most of her hair (her hair went down the middle of her back - now it wasn't even shoulder length) and she was just SO sad, you could see the tears in her eyes and well... It just hit me.
We watched one make up artist (Erwin, my fav) doing a 'party' look on one lady, and another make up artist a more neutral-during-the-day (with a strong lip) on - well, me. I had to be the model, haha. But it was nice. They explained every step of the way really well. I didn't learn that many new tricks to be honest, just a few. Apparently the darker colours I put in my crease are always a bit too low, which made my eye looking heavier, if you know what I mean... Another good trick was the use of a white/fleshtone eyekohl in your waterline. I got a bit better at blending... Over all, the artists said I was doing a good job, and that my make up already looked good before - which made me extremely proud.
In the end we could get some products in exchange for the money we paid for the workshop. I got myself a Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 (see picture) and a second tapered blending brush. Can't wait to show it in an eye-look.
This was basically an amazing experience... But the best thing about today was in the end, when these five tired, insecure mothers walked out the door, feeling beautiful and with the biggest smiles on their faces. Cause that's what make up is about, guys. Making yourself feel good and beautiful, being proud of your features and just having FUN.

  6. Bij M.A.C. pro stores kan je dat doen. De volgende zijn wel pas over een paar maanden, ze doen het niet zo heel vaak.
